The Nuria Balboa Architecture and Urban Planning studio is located in a privileged location, in front of the Town Hall of Nigrán Town Council.

This space has been open since the 60s, originally as a tailor’s shop and select drapery ‘Marrogui’, founded by her own maternal grandfather and through which most of the neighbourhood of Val Miñor passed.

The manual, dedicated and precise work of the costumes, combining textures and colours, has a lot of architectural quality, teaching her granddaughter the value of working with her hands and the different materials.

This acquired knowledge is combined with visits to building sites and drawings by her paternal grandfather for as long as she can remember. Moisés was a builder who had an excellent team of stonemasons and formwork workers, and who came to work with great architects such as Xosé Bar Boo.

Nuria Balboa Rodríguez, Architect by the Escuela Técnica Superior de A Coruña and Master in Health ans Safety Risk by UVigo, begins her career as an independent professional in 2018, gathering and mixing tradition with contemporary techniques and standards.

Her interest in improving her work leads her to continue training in both the architectural and cultural fields, developing her work in these two areas.

The work of accompaniment throughout the project and its execution is fundamental, as the process is not only material, but also emotional and vital. Each project is adapted to the needs of its users in an individualised way, thus making a tailor-made ‘architectural suit’.

The studio is currently involved in new building projects, urban planning, refurbishments and technical management of events.
